Background

Cox Automotive Inc. a subsidiary of Cox Enterprises (est. 1989), along with some familiar names as vAuto, AutoTrader, Kelly Blue Book, Manheim Auto Auction, and many others, is a standard in the industry and used by most auto dealerships to manage used inventory.

Project

My primary mission was to design a suite of mobile applications that streamline and simplify the lifecycle management of used vehicles. These apps were built to enable on-the-spot vehicle evaluations, allowing for faster, more accurate quotes for buyers. Additionally, I designed tools for inventory tracking and vehicle status management, empowering lot managers to easily determine which vehicles were available for sale, trade, or auction.

Beyond new app development, I tackled complex Projects by refining and simplifying legacy mobile and web applications, improving user flows, journey mapping, and controller interactions. I also led efforts to modernize UI components, ensuring a more cohesive and visually engaging experience. Collaboration was key - I worked closely with cross-functional teams to establish a global design system, creating a scalable and unified approach to design across all platforms.

Wholesale Tracker app

This app was the cornerstone of our team’s efforts, designed to provide a seamless way to track wholesale inventory at auction. The primary goal was to enable users to quickly identify a vehicle's current stage in its lifecycle, ensuring greater efficiency in decision-making and inventory management. By streamlining access to critical data, the app helped auction teams and lot managers stay informed and act quickly.

    Mobile apps

At Cox Automotive, I worked on both new product development and enhancements to legacy applications, improving usability and visual consistency across platforms. I played a key role in shaping the design direction for future projects, ensuring alignment with iOS Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design System. By refining user experiences and modernizing interfaces, I helped create more intuitive, scalable, and visually cohesive digital products.

      Provision Web app prototype

I created a fully interactive prototype using the GetUIkit front-end framework, carefully piecing together a concept that mimicked existing content while refining the user experience and interface design. This allowed for real-world usability testing, enabling stakeholders to visualize potential improvements and iterate quickly based on feedback. The prototype served as a functional blueprint, helping bridge the gap between concept and development while ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
